Delicious Guacamole Recipe

photo e1311646342920 224x300 Delicious Guacamole RecipeSo now that you know all about the health benefits of avocados, here is a guacamole recipe that I LOVE and made this weekend.  It was a recipe given to me by a good friend.  I altered it a tiny bit using a jalapeno pepper instead of Tabasco sauce and left out the tomatoes.

Delicious Guacamole Recipe

Prep Time: 20 minutes

My friend's recipe called for some chopped tomatoes. I just left the tomatoes out and paired it with some homemade salsa and low-fat tortilla chips. I'll post my salsa recipe soon.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium Avocados
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice (about 3 limes)
  • 1 Jalapeno Pepper
  • 1/2-1 Cup cilantro
  • 1 Tbs of fresh crushed garlic
  • 1. Peel the Avocados cut into chunks and put in a bowl. Throw out large pits and smash the avocados up with a fork- leaving a bit chunky (unless you prefer your guacamole smooth and creamy) 2. Squeeze lime juice until you get about 1/2 Cup. 3. Finely chop up 1 Jalapeno pepper 4. Chop up Cilantro 5. Using a garlic press, crush enough garlic to make 1 Tablespoon. 6 A dash or two of salt 7. Mix all ingredients together. 8. Grab a bag of low-fat tortilla chips and enjoy at your next happy hour!
