Food Meets Fashion- Animal Crackers Get Pretty

AnimalCrackersLilly 300x221 Food Meets Fashion Animal Crackers Get PrettyHere is my Sugar Shout Out for Animal Crackers!

You’ve gotta love them, especially when they are in a cute Lilly Pulizter Box.  At Acme last week, I ran across this gorgeous box of cookies at the end of one of the aisles.  I don’t know if it’s because of the fa
mous white string handle or just the pure joy of childhood,  but Barnum’s Animal crackers have always been one of my all time favorite snacks.
Upon finding this cute box of cookies, I was instantly curious about two things:
1) How are these cookies are different from the traditional Red Circus Box?  I was happy to see that they are exactly the same animal crackers.  Although, would have been thrilled if they had some naturally colored pastel icing on them- despite the added sugar.

2) Will Lilly Pulitzer’s spring collection be sporting a fabric that looks like this box?  Hmm….I’ll have to research that! My 2 girls would LOVE it!

Why the Sugar Shout Out?  Because these cookies are delicious with only have 3.5 grams of fat per serving (two servings per box = 7grams), are a good source of Calcium (10%) and are a great alternative to so many other high fat sugary snacks out there.  Also, I admit….I’m a sucker for a pretty package!

You will be sure to find these cookies in our Easter Baskets this year!
