How to Roast a Thanksgiving Turkey
I’m hosting Thanksgiving tomorrow- can’t wait! Since it’s been three years since I’ve cooked a Giant Bird, I just got done browsing some YouTube Videos. I needed a refresher on how to make a Turkey. After watching Martha and some other well known celebrities and chefs, I found this “How to Make A Thanksgiving Turkey” video by Howdini to be the most simple and helpful . It’s an easy & clear to follow Turkey Recipe.
Now that I have the simple Turkey Preparation directions via Youtube, I’ll be following a recipe from the Macy’s Culinary Council Thanksgiving & Holiday Cookbook (which I received as a Klout Perk) the other day in the mail- just in time for my Holiday Meal! There are several turkey recipes in the book to choose from, but I was instantly drawn to the Cider-Glazed Turkey with Perfect Pan Gravy (found on page 39.) This Turkey Recipe has a cider Glaze with Dijon Mustard and gives directions AND a recipe on how to make a giblet broth for the gravy.
This cookbook is a lot of fun as it has some history in the beginning of the book about Making the Magic of the Thanksgiving Parade (photography is awesome.) There is also a biography section with the skinny on all of the contributing chefs like: Ricky Bayless, Cat Cora, Wolfgang Puck and more. And, of course, the one thing that is a must have for any cookbook I use is pictures of the recipes- which are fantastic throughout the book. This book can be purchased at Macy’s.
I’ll let you know how my meal prep goes and tastes! I can’t wait to get started while watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
I received this sample cookbook from Klout.com. All opinions are my own- truly a great cookbook.
