and my first intro to prescribed diets for dogs was in the late ’80s was a Chicago vet prescribing Science Diet KdA for my 12 y.o. Wire Hair Fox Terrier.

I kinda know what you are going through, I was treating my Coz with subcutaneous fluid injections. After 13 years of clean blood tests he’d contracted Lyme’s. but his renal failure may have just been aging too, he’d just turned 15 and had been really healthy nearly all his life, we were rarely at the vet except for routine visits.

All the best! My vet’s ass’t said she’s seen older dogs bounce back and we are lucky we have even these treatments (after the first several nights of treatment Coz would come and wait patiently for his! I think he knew it was helping him feel better)
